Brady Wants...1000 Strong

With the season opener 3 days away, the defending MAAC Champion Marist Red Foxes kicked off their season a little early with a campus rally late last night. Fresh off his contract extension, Coach Matt Brady along with several members of the team (Shooter included) served up free buffalo wings and pizza for the student body at Jazzman’s Cafe in Upper West. The event aimed to rekindle some of the excitement around Marist Basketball, which last season had all of Poughkeepsie buzzing.

Setting the goal of 1000 students to pack the bleachers of McCann for Sunday's opener against Delaware, Coach Brady asked students for a "sea of red" at the game and extended that message to Upper West's student housing. Seniors Ben Farmer, Shae McNamara and Joe Keegan along with red-shirt juniors Ryan Schneider and Kaylen Gregory knocked on every door throughout Upper West and personally told students to be there Sunday.
